Diane M Janson first conceived of ANTICS in 1973
while in high school. Combining an interest
in poetry with artistry she created the titular ant and then went through the dictionary making a list of every word containing a-n-t.

She thanks her mother Jane for always saying
“go look it up in the dictionary” and her
aunt Barbara for encouraging her to build on the ANTICS universe over the next few years.

In 1983, she obtained a copyright from the United States Patent & Trademark Office for the resulting artwork featured in this book.
